Those Silly Xians!

In their unending battle to believe their
mythological dogma, Xians say the funniest things. Sometimes it runs
from as simple as quoting Bible passages directly contradicting other Bible
passages, and sometimes it's steadfast adherence to their fables even when
confronted with inarguable evidence that anyone can see, just to hold on
to their beliefs. And, sometimes (more often than should happen), they
simply say really silly things.
The best example of this was what a very
religious friend of my girlfriend said one day when musing about people who
didn't believe in her religion or her God. She said, "I find intelligent
people have a harder time believing in God." Well, she gets my
vote for Silly Xian of the Year with that one. Not only is she right,
but she was sufficiently lacking in common sense to even realize she'd just
called herself, and her fellow Xians, unintelligent.
Was this some backwoods redneck, some brainless
wonder? Sounds like it, but this was someone who was in college and
theoretically had to score well on SATs or the like. Of course, a lot of
people get into college who don't have the brainpower to be there, but this
girl wasn't there on a football scholarship or anything. |
