Publication
The power of desktop publishing was introduced by the Macintosh in the 80s, but nowadays you can put together impressive publications no matter what type of computer you're using. I have a particular enjoyment in publication work.

Design.  For design, I primarily use Microsoft Publisher for ease and speed of use, but I'm skilled with Adobe PageMaker, Adobe InDesign,  Quark XPress, and Scribus. Why would I choose to use Microsoft Publisher? Frankly, it's about the best product Microsoft has ever put out, and contrary to the proclamations of the PageMaker/InDesign/Quark folks, it does virtually everything those high-cost programs do. Really. Plus, Publisher is easy to use and its low cost enables me to set up clients with Publisher for very little money--and a very little learning curve. All that being said, Scribus is the next best thing! It's open-source software--meaning it's FREE!--and appears to be on its way to becoming the desktop publishing software of the future.

Adventure Quest!  Don't let that "intensive work" statement fool you. I did one project that was 344 solid pages and it was done completely using Microsoft Publisher. The project was started long before I had PageMaker or Quark, but MS Publisher has been a wonderful piece of software for the job. 344 pages is no slouch assembly! That's on 8.5"x11" paper with predominately 8-point font size and three-column text, with countless tables, charts, and graphics.

Adobe Acrobat PDF format.  I use Adobe Acrobat 5.0 to create universal PDF (Portable Document Format) readable using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader which works on every major computing platform -- Windows, Macintosh, Linux, etc.

Scanning
Scanning is done on a Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 4c large-format flatbed. OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is done using several top-quality OCR software packages.

Printing
Printing is done on Hewlett-Packard LaserJet and color DeskJet printers for industry-tops superiority.

Binding
As an additive, I'll even spiral-bind your reports or publications (the plastic combs) with GBC binding machines -- Image Maker Models 1000 and 2000. Cost is dependent on the size and number of copies of the publication.

Most of the example projects above represent one to two hours' work, although catalogs and other multi-page (or very large) publications can become a lengthy project.  Let's talk about your project and see what we can come up with!
