A Web site is a powerful tool in today's world--and, in fact, is becoming more and more necessary, not only for big business but for intermediate and even small as well. Soon, a Web site URL will likely be just as common--and required--as a telephone number.

Who Needs a Web Site?
Everyone. With more and more people buying on the Web--or even just looking for you on the Web--you need to compete with everyone. Imagine if you ran a widget sales business and there were 20 widget suppliers in town, and you were the only one without a phone number. Chances are the other 19 widget suppliers are going to get all the business.

It's quite the same with the Web. More people every day look to the Web to find the products and services they want to buy. Even when shopping locally, they'd rather check a Web site first before driving over. A Web can give all the information potential customers need before they drive all over town--instead of calling and spending twenty minutes trying to glean all the information they need from a sales associate on the phone.

Web Presence
Even if you aren't selling scores of products, a Web presence is vital. Even a few simple pages sporting your company logo, telling visitors about your business, and giving them the means to contact you is a powerful plus to your business success.

Site Extravagance
How should your site look? There are software tools out there that can give you an amazing site loaded with beautiful graphics and Flash presentations and other nifty things. I am a firm believer in a relatively minimalist approach to site design. The most important feature of your site is the content, so it all boils down to having the right text talking about what you are. Visit my Site Extravagance and Styles of Design pages for more insight.

Not Sure?
You may have thought about a Web site for your business and talked with Web designers, only to be stunned at the ridiculous price quotes. Perhaps you went ahead with a low-cost "Web guy" and discovered you could have done better. Or possibly you had a decent-looking site done, but it runs slow as molasses, there isn't proper META and ALT tagging, you can't get found in search engines, hosting fees are insane, or something like that.

These problems are all curable. If you've had experiences like these, let's get together and talk.
