As usual, a lot of people give the standard
"He sings well, but this one doesn't have Steinman and thus it just isn't
as good." Few will argue that when Steinman and Meat get together, great
things happen; however, it's sad to compare everything Meat does without
Steinman with everything he's done with Steinman.
This album is fantastic. Meat's voice is all
you need to carry even weak music and lyrics, and while the tracks on here
might not go down as the best he's remembered for, they're very good.
"Couldn't Have Said It Better" is a great tune, very typical Meat and very
Steinman-esque (GASP! Did I just say that OUT LOUD?!).
I really like
"Because of You." Perhaps one
of the finest love songs Meat has ever done: a man confessing how
wonderful things are because she's in his life. |
