Back when BOOH2 was released, there was 70s retrospective show on TV (I can't remember what it was). They had classic 70s rock groups performing, and Meat blew the curve by performing not a classic tune--but this one. I remember thinking, "That's not the POINT, Meat!"; but in the end, the performance he gave was the highlight of the show.

The song's title was one Steinman borrowed from his earlier works in a Bonnie Tyler tune, "Getting So Excited," from her Steinman-produced Faster Than the Speed of Night album--well worth a listen.

There is no trick to this one, folks. Every time Meat sings "I won't do THAT," the word THAT clearly referes to something else he just said in the previous sentence:

I'd never forgive myself if we don't go all the way
I would do anything for love, but I won't do that (he won't ever forgive himself)

And, of course, in the end of the song, THAT is very obvious in two verses:

This has been enough of a confusion to many people... so much so that Blender magazine, in April 2004, named this song as one of their 50 Worst Songs of All Time. (If you can believe that!) I wrote a letter to them outlining my feelings (and I NEVER write letters over things like this).
